Normie Kwong Normie Kwong at 5'10" and 170-pounds, was the youngest player ever to win the Grey Cup. He was 18 years old and a fullback who played for the Calgary Stampeders. Born in Calgary in 1929, Normie Kwong was also the first Chinese Canadian to play in the Canadian Football League (CFL). He joined the CFL in 1948. Normie retired in 1960 and by then he held over 30 CFL records, had won the Schenley Award, 1955 and 1956. He was the CFL’s most outstanding Canadian player and was voted Canada’s Athlete of the Year in 1955, beating out Cliff Lumsden, Jackie Parker, Rocket Richard, and Stan Leonard. Out of the 7 Grey Cup Finals he played in, he won four over the course of 13 seasons. Normie aquired the nickname “China Clipper,” both on and off the playing field. In 1988 at the age of 69, Norman Kwong was awarded the Order of Canada. Normie was President and General Manager the Calgary Stampeders from 1988-91. He was also co-owner of the NHL’s Calgary Flames from 1989-94. During that time the Flames won the Stanley Cup, which made Norman Kwong the only Canadian to win both the Grey and Stanley Cups. In his 13-year career as a fullback, Normie Kwong ran a total of 9,022 yards. Normie is the complete football player. He's an excellent blocker, tackler, pass-retriever, as well as being one of the most exciting runners in Canadian football. 1958 Topps NFL Football Cards For Sale, 1958 Topps NFL Football Trading Cards To Trade.
